Sourced figures: fees in the table carry their source and check month. They are official or third-party figures, not our offers, and they change. This guide is not the park authority.

The Rinca Island entrance fee is the park's ordinary ticket, priced per person per day for your visitor type, with no Rinca-only rate on the official lines. At Loh Buaya, the park's guide page adds a tariff per group of five, licensed to the park cooperative. The price table on this page shows both, with one operator's figure labelled as such.

Is the Rinca Island entrance fee a separate charge?

On the official lines, no. The park authority's tariff poster sets the entrance ticket by who you are and what day it is: foreign tourist, or Indonesian tourist on a weekday, Saturday, Sunday or holiday. It does not set a figure by island in the lines shown here, so a Rinca visit uses the same ticket as the rest of the park. This is the charge described in our Komodo park entrance fee overview.

One operator's per-island dollar list conflicts with the poster; see the checking guide. Official tariffs are in rupiah, so treat a per-island dollar figure as the seller's own statement and ask what it includes.

For a leisure visitor, a Rinca permit means this same entrance ticket, with nothing special to apply for. SIMAKSI, the conservation-area entry permit, is required for purposes such as research, film, journalism and drones, and our guide to the park entrance fee covers the ticket in full.

Because the unit is per person per day, your Rinca cost scales with your party and the days you spend inside the park. The poster has no island line, and the per-day page sets out what is and is not stated about one day's ticket at several gates. If a quote charges for Rinca as an item on its own, ask which poster line it reflects.

What is the guide rate at Loh Buaya?

This is the one place in the park where the guide charge is clearly official and also matches what an operator reports. The park's guide page says guiding at Loh Buaya on Rinca is licensed to the Komodo National Park cooperative, KSU TN Komodo, which has operated since 2006 and has 50 naturalist guides. The tariff published there is per group of five. Ocean Earth Travels lists the same figure for a ranger at Rinca, and the price table on this page has both rows, each with its source.

The charge is per group, so three friends share one guide charge and a solo traveller carries all of it alone. It is also separate from the entrance ticket. Neptune Liveaboards describes the single daily entry fee as covering a ranger walk on Rinca, but that wording does not settle the guide charge, which the park publishes separately for Loh Buaya. What happens above five people is covered on our ranger and guide fee page, along with how official and reported rates differ across the park.

Which trails are listed?

siora.id describes Loh Buaya as one of seven entrance gates, and lists two trails there:

Which trails are listed?
Trail at Loh BuayaLength, per siora.id
Raised deckAbout 400 m
Hidden NirvanaAbout 1,100 m

No tariff line above varies by trail. A "trekking fee" for Rinca is worth a question, because the park head told Antara that trekking is already part of the entrance ticket.

A small difference between official sources: siora.id says seven gates, while Forestry Minister Regulation 17/2025 lists eight entry points for the park, among them Loh Buaya and Kampung Rinca. For a visitor heading to Loh Buaya, this makes no difference to what you pay.

What is Rinca's capacity?

Antara gives Rinca an annual carrying capacity of 44,165 visitors. That is less than a quarter of the figure for Komodo Island and about two and a half times the figure for Padar. It is an annual planning number, and Antara does not present it as a limit on Rinca tickets for a given day.

The working limit you meet is the park-wide daily cap, which applies through SiOra and is explained on the quota page. Since sales have moved to advance booking, ask about the ticket date before you think about the island itinerary.

Why were sailing permits limited to Rinca in May 2026?

Kompas reports that high waves, up to 2.3 m, led the port authority to issue tourism sailing permits for Rinca only, until 31 May 2026. Tourist boats could not head to Komodo Island during that time. Kompas also gives the sea distances from Labuan Bajo: Rinca about 22 km and Komodo about 49 km.

Note who decided. The port authority issues sailing permits and the ticketing system does not, so a valid park ticket does not settle whether a boat may sail to a given island. The episode was also specific to its dates and conditions, and it does not mean Rinca will stay open in a future closure. What happens to your ticket when plans change is covered on our refunds and closures page.

How can you tell if a Rinca charge is too high?

Break it into units before you compare. A fair comparison needs three separate numbers from the operator:

  • The entrance ticket, multiplied by people and days. Compare with the poster line for your visitor type.
  • The guide charge, per group. Compare with the park's guide page.
  • Everything else, named. The boat, food and the operator's own service are not park fees at all, and no official tariff tells you what they should cost.

A quote that shows one combined "Rinca fee" cannot be checked until you have that split. Asking for it is a normal request, and it is the only reliable way to find out whether a figure is padded or simply bundled.

What else do visitors ask about Rinca fees?

Is a permit required to visit Rinca Island?

A leisure visitor needs the park's entrance ticket, which is booked through SiOra. SIMAKSI is a separate permit, and the park lists film, drones, journalism and research among its purposes.

Is the Rinca fee included in a tour?

It depends on the operator, and the name of the island on an itinerary tells you nothing either way. Ask whether the entrance ticket and the Loh Buaya guide charge are inside the price or added as separate lines.

What fees do I pay for Rinca Island?

The per-person, per-day entrance ticket and, at Loh Buaya, the guide tariff per group of five. If you come by boat, a vessel ticket also applies to the boat, which an operator may show as a line or fold into its price.

Do I need a separate Rinca Island ticket?

The official tariff lines are set by visitor type and day, not by island, so there is no Rinca-only line on them. One operator's per-island dollar list conflicts with the poster.

Are there separate fees for Komodo Island and Rinca Island?

Not on the entrance lines of the poster. Guide charges are a separate matter and depend on the location. Whether one day's ticket covers two islands visited on that same day is something to confirm with the park or with the company registering you.

Which published prices did we check?

Official tariffs and, where labelled, figures reported by named operators or the press, each with its source and the month we checked it. These are not our prices or offers. Fees and rules change, and sources sometimes disagree, so check the source before you rely on a figure.

How do I reach the desk?

To ask about a Rinca line on a quote, message +62 811-3823-875 on WhatsApp or send an email. We can tell you whether a line appears on the park's published tariff. Requests can lead to a paid booking, so we have a commercial interest. We do not issue tickets, and if you request a trip, only a written offer naming the company and price would bind anyone.
