Sourced figures: fees in the table carry their source and check month. They are official or third-party figures, not our offers, and they change. This guide is not the park authority.

The Komodo National Park entrance fee is a state ticket charged per person per day, with one rate for foreign tourists and a two-level rate for Indonesian tourists. The main official lines, from entrance tickets to drones and cruise ships, are in the price table on this page, taken from the park authority's poster, plus the guide tariff from the park's guide page.

What is the official Komodo National Park entrance fee?

The reference document is the tariff poster published by Balai Taman Nasional Komodo, the park authority, on its ticket price and carrying capacity page. The poster rests on Government Regulation 36/2024, which the audit board's regulation database records as enacted on 30 September 2024, effective from 30 October 2024 and still in force. What came before that date, and what was announced and then dropped, is on the timeline of fee changes.

Tourists fall into three groups on the poster: foreign tourists, Indonesian tourists, and Indonesian student groups of at least five people. The foreign ticket is printed once, under weekdays and Saturdays, with nothing for foreign tourists under Sundays and holidays. A gap like that could be read two ways, and the park head's statement to Antara settles it: the foreign price is the same on holidays and working days. Indonesia's tourism ministry site gives the same headline lines for the foreign, Indonesian, diving and fishing tickets, which means two government sources agree on those lines.

For how this ticket sits among the other charges, start with the Komodo National Park fee overview. Two detail pages take this further: the fee for foreign visitors and the fee for Indonesian visitors.

Knowing the tariff is a separate matter from being able to buy it. Paying at a gate is no longer an option on RRI's account: on-site sales ended in April 2026, and reservations now run through SiOra, the park's booking system. The steps are on the SiOra guide. A date may also be sold out, as the quota page shows, and who may complete the booking is disputed on the page on booking yourself.

What does per person per day mean in practice?

The unit decides the bill more than the headline number does. The tourist entrance line multiplies by heads and by days. Other lines multiply by something else entirely, as this summary of the poster's units shows.

What does per person per day mean in practice?
Ticket lineUnit on the posterWhat drives the total
Tourist entrance (foreign, Indonesian, student group)Per person per dayNumber of people times days inside the park
Scuba divingPer person per dayEach diver, each day
Sport fishingPer person per activityEach person, each fishing activity
Drone operationPer unit per dayEach drone, each day
Commercial video, film, photography and prewedding shootsPer package per locationEach package at each location
Speedboat or wooden boat, banded by engine power (PK)Per unit per dayEach boat, each day
Cruise ship, banded by passenger capacityPer unit per dayEach ship, each day

Here is how that works with no figures attached. Four Indonesian friends who spend a Saturday and a Sunday inside the park need eight tickets: four at the lower rate for the Saturday and four at the higher rate for the Sunday. Four foreign friends on the same dates also need eight tickets, all at the single foreign rate. A boat carrying either group has its own ticket for each of those days, whether that cost is shown to the guest as a line or folded into a charter price.

The poster gives the unit but does not define how a part day counts, for example a final morning on a liveaboard. That question is handled by operators rather than by a published rule, and the page on daily counting sets out who says what.

Does Saturday count as a holiday rate?

No. On the poster's English panel, Saturday sits with the weekdays at the lower Indonesian rate. The higher rate applies to Sundays, national holidays and collective leave days. Some operators write "weekends" when they describe the higher rate, but the poster does not use that word, so a weekend surcharge applied to a Saturday ticket deserves a question.

The split touches only two groups. Indonesian tourists have a lower line and a higher line, and Indonesian student groups have their own lower line and higher line. If a trip crosses a collective leave date, check that year's calendar before counting tickets, because those days are priced like Sundays even when they fall midweek. Foreign visitors can ignore the whole question.

What other tickets are on the list?

Beyond entrance, the poster carries activity tickets, permits for shooting, and tickets for vessels.

Trekking, wildlife watching and snorkelling do not appear as separate paid lines for a normal visitor. Antara quotes the park head as saying the entrance ticket already includes them, and the tourism ministry site says the same while excluding boats, accommodation and tour operator services. The snorkeling fee page explains how that changed in 2024. The price table also includes one line from outside the poster: the guide charge at Loh Buaya and Gili Lawa, published on the park's guide services page.

What is not on the official list?

Two charges that operators describe have no line on the poster. One is a harbour fee, described as a charge at the port in Labuan Bajo; the poster has no harbour fee line, and the harbour fee page lists who reports it. The other is a conservation fee; the poster has no conservation fee line either, and the conservation fee page sets out those claims. Absence from the poster does not make a charge false, since the poster covers state park revenue only. It does mean the poster cannot confirm the charge, and whoever quotes it should be able to say who collects it.

A clean way to read any quote is to split it into three parts:

  1. State tickets that match a line on the poster, with the unit shown.
  2. Other charges, each with a named collector.
  3. Operator services, such as the boat, lodging and guide arrangements.

Only the first part can be checked against this list. The second needs a source of its own, and the third is a commercial price that varies by seller. The checking guide shows the method, and the page on what a tour includes covers the split with the seller.

Can a ticket be cancelled?

Officially, no. The poster rules out both cancellation and refund once a ticket is bought. That wording carries no condition on the poster itself, although press reports describe a narrow exception, covered alongside the January 2026 closure on the ticket refund page. For budgeting, treat an entrance ticket as money spent once it is bought, and settle dates and traveller details before payment rather than after.

What else do visitors ask about the entrance fee?

What does the Komodo National Park entrance fee cover?

The park head told Antara that the entrance ticket covers trekking, wildlife observation and snorkelling. The tourism ministry site agrees and adds that boats, accommodation and tour operator services are not covered. Diving, sport fishing, drones and commercial shooting have their own lines.

Is the Komodo National Park entrance fee the same every day?

For foreign tourists, yes: the poster shows one foreign line and the park head described the price as the same on holidays and working days. For Indonesian tourists and student groups, no: Sundays, national holidays and collective leave days cost more.

Is the Komodo National Park entrance fee higher in 2026 compared to last year?

The tariff in force comes from a regulation effective since 30 October 2024. The 2025 and 2026 announcements cited in this guide deal with booking and quota rather than tariff lines. The timeline of fee changes has the dated detail.

Is the Komodo National Park fee higher on weekends?

Only on Sundays, and only for Indonesian tourists and student groups. The poster groups Saturday with weekdays, and foreign tourists pay one rate on all days. National holidays and collective leave days also take the higher Indonesian rate.

How much is the Komodo National Park fee for groups?

The entrance ticket is charged per person, so a group pays the per-person line times its size and its days. The only group line is for Indonesian student groups of at least five. The poster shows no reduced group rate for foreign tourists. Exact figures are in the price table on this page.

Which published prices did we check?

Official tariffs and, where labelled, figures reported by named operators or the press, each with its source and the month we checked it. These are not our prices or offers. Fees and rules change, and sources sometimes disagree, so check the source before you rely on a figure.
