Sourced figures: fees in the table carry their source and check month. They are official or third-party figures, not our offers, and they change. This guide is not the park authority.

The Komodo National Park fee for Indonesians has two rates on the park authority's poster: a normal rate for weekdays and Saturdays, and a higher rate for Sundays, national holidays and collective leave. Student groups of at least five pay their own lower lines. All four are in the price table on this page, charged per person per day.

What is the Komodo National Park fee for Indonesians?

Indonesian tourists pay per person per day, with the day of the week deciding which of two rates applies. The park authority's poster sets both, and Indonesia's tourism ministry site gives the same headline lines, so here the official sources agree. What the ticket includes is set out on the page on tour inclusions. This is the local-rate side of the Komodo National Park fee.

This page is written in English for Indonesian citizens and for the foreign partners, friends and hosts who plan with them. A mixed group needs two sums, since a foreign companion pays a different line that stays flat all week, explained on the page for foreigners.

Which days use the holiday rate?

Sundays, national holidays and collective leave days. Saturday is not one of them. The poster's English panel groups Saturday with weekdays for the lower rate, although some operators write "weekends" as if Saturday cost more.

Which days use the holiday rate?

Monday to FridayNormal
SaturdayNormal
SundayHoliday

Collective leave (cuti bersama)Holiday

Since the unit is per day, a trip can cross both rates. A Saturday to Monday boat trip touches normal, holiday and normal again if all three days count as days in the park. Before a long weekend, compare the dates with the government's collective leave calendar, because a working Friday in one year can be a leave day in the next.

Where does the holiday multiple come from?

From the regulation, not from the park's discretion. Government Regulation 36/2024 sets the holiday price for Indonesian tourists and student groups in national parks at 150% of the normal tariff. The poster's holiday figures work out to exactly that multiple of the normal ones, for general tourists and for students alike.

The same line does not mention foreign tourists, which is why the two groups behave differently on a Sunday. The wider rule is explained in our page on PP 36/2024 at Komodo.

How does the student group rate work?

The poster gives Indonesian student groups a separate line, with a minimum of five people per group. The normal-day student line is half the general normal-day line, and the holiday student line is half the general holiday line. The same Saturday rule applies.

A school organiser should ask the park authority what proof of student status is accepted, whether a teacher travelling with the group pays the student line, and how a student group is entered in SiOra, before collecting money from parents.

  • Fewer than five students: the minimum is not met, so plan on the general Indonesian line.
  • Foreign students: the line is written for Indonesian student groups, and no line for foreign or international students appears on the poster.
  • Senior citizens: the poster shows no separate line for them either.

Do the extras differ for Indonesians?

Some do. The poster's scuba and sport fishing lines each carry one figure with no nationality split. Commercial video, commercial photography and prewedding shoots are different, with separate Indonesian and foreign lines and the Indonesian ones lower. A couple planning a prewedding shoot should read the photo and video permit page first.

Two items circulate outside the poster. Komodo Resort, an operator, describes a conservation fee with an Indonesian figure, and Ocean Earth Travels reports a harbour fee at Labuan Bajo. Neither is on the park's tariff, so ask who set it before paying.

What did Indonesians pay before 2024?

Less, though sources describe the old price differently. Detik reported a low entrance ticket collected by the park authority, on normal days and holidays, before optional activity charges. Antara, writing in 2024, instead describes a higher prior normal-day figure, which appears to count bundled activities. Both can be right, since they seem to measure different things.

That difference changes the story. Set against Detik's bare entrance ticket, the current line looks like a very steep rise. Set against Antara's bundled figure, it looks more modest, since today's ticket also absorbs trekking, wildlife observation and snorkeling. The price table on this page shows the Detik figure, marked as no longer in force.

How do you work out a group total?

Count person-days by rate, then multiply. Take two Indonesian adults and one foreign partner on a Saturday and Sunday inside the park. That makes two person-days at the Indonesian normal rate, two at the Indonesian holiday rate and two at the foreign rate. A student group of eight on a Tuesday is eight person-days at the normal student line. Add any scuba tickets, and keep the boat and guide as separate items, since the state ticket does not cover them.

Do Indonesian visitors still need to book ahead?

Plan on it. RRI reports that on-site ticket purchase ended and that bookings go through SiOra, and an Indonesian group should work on that basis unless the park says otherwise. Entering without a ticket is no shortcut, as the regulation page explains.

Do residents count as Indonesian?

The poster leaves that open. It separates foreign tourists from Indonesian tourists and does not address a foreigner living in Indonesia on a KITAS, in either direction. Local residents of Labuan Bajo have no separate line on the poster either.

If you are a KITAS holder, or are hosting one, ask before booking and do not rely on what a friend paid. The call centre number is on our contact page. Say what permit is held, ask which line applies, and request the reply in writing so that it can be shown if the question comes up at a station.

Can you pay in rupiah?

The official tariff is set in rupiah. At the SiOra launch the ministry named BRIVA, bank transfer, DANA, Flip and ShopeePay as payment routes, a list that favours people with Indonesian accounts. A director general memo also requires conservation units to go cashless, so do not plan on handing over notes at a gate. Details are on the page about SiOra payment methods, and the wording of that list dates from 2025.

What else do Indonesian visitors ask about the fee?

How much is the Komodo National Park fee for students?

Indonesian student groups of at least five have their own normal-day and holiday lines on the poster, each half the general rate. Both are in the price table on this page. No line for foreign students appears.

Is the Komodo National Park fee different for Indonesians?

Yes. Indonesian tourists have lower lines than foreign tourists. Their rate also rises on Sundays, national holidays and collective leave, whereas the park head told Antara the foreign rate does not change on holidays.

What is the Komodo National Park entrance fee for Indonesian citizens?

The park authority's poster gives Indonesian tourists a normal and a holiday rate, both per person per day. The tourism ministry's site matches it.

Is the Komodo National Park fee payable in Indonesian rupiah?

The official tariff is set in rupiah. Payment goes through SiOra, and the routes named at its 2025 launch were BRIVA, bank transfer, DANA, Flip and ShopeePay.

How much does Komodo National Park cost for Indonesian tourists?

The state ticket costs one of the two per-day rates in the price table on this page, multiplied by the days inside the park. A boat, a guide and any operator services are separate costs.

Which published prices did we check?

Official tariffs and, where labelled, figures reported by named operators or the press, each with its source and the month we checked it. These are not our prices or offers. Fees and rules change, and sources sometimes disagree, so check the source before you rely on a figure.

How do I reach the desk?

Planning for a school group or a mixed family? The desk answers on WhatsApp 628113823875 and by email. We do not issue tickets or decide who counts as a student or a resident; those calls belong to the park. Our interest is commercial, because enquiries sometimes turn into paid trips. A price or a commitment from us counts only when it appears in a written offer naming the contracting company.
