SiOra Komodo is the online system of Balai Taman Nasional Komodo, the park authority, for reserving entrance tickets, checking quota and applying for conservation-area permits. The forestry ministry launched it on 7 July 2025, five months after first use. RRI reports that on-site ticket sales ended in April 2026, so bookings now go through it.

What is SiOra Komodo?

SiOra is the digital service that sits between a visitor and the park's gates. The ministry report on the launch describes four jobs: ticket reservation, navigation of the park's zones, information in more than 40 languages, and SIMAKSI, the entry permit for conservation areas. Its public home is siora.id, whose page description names Balai Taman Nasional Komodo. That makes it the park authority's own channel, unlike a travel company's booking engine, and it is where the Komodo National Park fee is now reserved.

The name has no single official expansion, and you will see it capitalised as SIORA as well. Three wordings circulate. Two are listed below. Divebooker and some other travel sites use a third. None of them should be taken as the only correct one, and nothing about a booking depends on which you use.

Who runs SiOra and when did it start?

Articles disagree on the start date because there are two of them. A park authority report dated 7 February 2025 describes SiOra already running from 1 to 5 February 2025, with online tickets sold at Loh Buaya and 1,301 tourists recorded in that period. The formal launch came later: the forestry ministry's conservation director general launched the app at Puncak Waringin, Labuan Bajo, on 7 July 2025. So "started in February 2025" and "launched in July 2025" are both defensible, as long as you know which event is meant.

For a visitor, ownership matters mostly when something goes wrong. A stuck reservation is a question for the park authority, since neither a blog nor this site can see inside its system. Its published contact details are set out in our guide on how to check the Komodo National Park fee.

What can you do in SiOra?

The siora.id menu shows four service links. Each answers a different question, and it helps to know which one you need before you start.

The agent page deserves a caution. On 3 November 2026 it listed nobody and said Coming Soon, so on that date it could not be used to confirm that a given company was registered. Check it again rather than assuming the same result.

Several details sit only in the app's screens: how an account is created, which nationality fields appear, whether a group has its own form, and whether a separate booking is needed for each island or day. Whether an individual can finish a reservation without an agent is disputed between sources, and our page on booking Komodo tickets yourself sets out that conflict.

How does a reservation work?

This outline joins the steps given by IDN Times with the park's menu and the ministry's launch report. Your screens may differ.

  1. Download the app or open siora.id.
  2. Check quota for your date under Quota Information.
  3. Make the reservation no later than the day before your visit.
  4. Pay using a listed route. Our note on SiOra payment methods covers those routes and the open question about foreign cards.
  5. Keep the digital QR code ticket and show it at entry. The SiOra e-ticket rules go into more detail.

The day-before request comes from a circular cited in the launch report, and the reason given is practical: phone signal inside the park is weak. Reserving from a boat at the island is the situation the circular is trying to prevent, so download your ticket while you are still in Labuan Bajo.

The same report mentions two self-service reservation points, one at the park office's Komodo Visitor Centre and one at Labuan Bajo's KP3 port terminal. It does not give opening hours or say how payment works there, so treat them as a fallback to confirm in advance. Both are on the Labuan Bajo side, so they are no help once you have sailed.

What problems have been reported?

The fullest official list is in the February 2025 park report, written during the system's first days and five months before the launch. It names these problems:

  • Some phones were not compatible with the app.
  • Travel agents were still adapting to the new process.
  • Some visitors held only credit cards or had no mobile banking.
  • False fully booked notices appeared.

Read that list as history. A login problem today may have a different cause, because no later official statement says which of the four were fixed. If the app will not work on your phone, the other route IDN Times names is siora.id in a browser. If a reservation fails, note the exact message and the time before you try again, because that is what the park's staff will need. A fully booked notice should be taken seriously at first, then checked against Quota Information and with the park if you have reason to doubt it. The 2025 report shows such notices have been wrong before. It does not show that any particular notice is wrong now.

Is the old on-site text on siora.id still true?

Probably not, and a visitor who trusts it could arrive with no ticket. Destination text on siora.id still says tickets can be bought at Loh Buaya, Loh Liang and Padar Selatan at set hours. RRI reports that on-site purchase ended in April 2026 and that bookings go through SiOra. The later announcement should carry more weight than descriptive text that may simply not have been updated, so do not plan a trip around paying at a gate.

This also explains some conflicting advice online. A guide that tells you to buy on arrival may be quoting older wording, or may be older itself. Entering without a ticket has legal consequences, summarised in our note on PP 36/2024 and Komodo National Park.

Which address should you use to reserve?

The one reservation address on this page is siora.id, along with the app it points to. This site does not sell park tickets, hold quota or collect ticket payments. If a message or an advert sends you somewhere else to reserve a park ticket, compare the address letter by letter with siora.id and put the question to the park authority before you enter any details or send any money.

What else do people ask about SiOra?

What is SiOra for Komodo National Park?

It is the park authority's online system for ticket reservation, quota information, zone navigation and SIMAKSI permits. The forestry ministry launched it in Labuan Bajo on 7 July 2025.

Do I need a SiOra booking for Komodo Island?

RRI reports that bookings go through SiOra and that on-site purchase ended in April 2026, so plan on booking before you travel. Older text on siora.id that mentions buying at Loh Liang appears to predate that change.

Can I get a Komodo National Park ticket without SiOra?

Going by the April 2026 reports, buying at the gate is no longer an option. The launch report does name two self-service reservation points in Labuan Bajo, and the park authority can say whether they still operate.

What does SiOra stand for?

Sources differ. The Labuan Bajo Flores tourism authority writes Sistem Informasi Ora/Komodo, while siora.id writes Sistem Informasi Operasional Kawasan. Some travel sites use a third version.

Do I need a SiOra account to enter Komodo National Park?

What IDN Times says you show at entry is the digital QR code ticket. See what the app asks for when you reserve.

Is SiOra available in English?

The launch report mentions information in more than 40 languages but does not list them. Open the app or siora.id and look for the language setting before relying on it.

How do I reach the desk?

This site is a guide with a request desk under Juara Holding Group. It is not part of SiOra or the park authority, and it cannot see or fix a reservation. For trip questions, message WhatsApp +62 811-3823-875 or email the desk. Requests can lead to a paid booking, so we have a commercial interest. Any fee, the price and the contracting company are stated in a written offer before you agree, and only that offer binds. More in our disclaimer.
