Sourced figures: fees in the table carry their source and check month. They are official or third-party figures, not our offers, and they change. This guide is not the park authority.

Komodo National Park fee changes since 2019 fall into three groups: rules now in force, charges that ended, and plans withdrawn or dropped. The tariff in force dates from 30 October 2024 under Government Regulation 36/2024. SiOra booking and a daily quota came later and changed how you buy, not what the poster charges.

Which Komodo National Park fee changes are in force today?

Read the status column first. Several headlines from this period describe plans withdrawn or dropped, and those figures can still turn up in older travel articles. For what the ticket is today, see the Komodo National Park fee overview.

Items marked ended, withdrawn or never applied do not affect what a visitor pays today. Older figures for ended or cancelled items sit in the price table on this page so that you can recognise them in old articles, and each one is labelled as no longer current.

What changed in 2019?

Nothing that reached a visitor's bill. In 2019 East Nusa Tenggara province announced a year-long closure of Komodo Island starting in January 2020. The environment minister then cancelled the plan, as the Guardian reported on 1 October 2019. A day later Skift reported that a membership fee was being floated in its place. The current poster has no membership line. The episode matters today mainly because a large dollar figure from that report can still surface in old travel writing and be mistaken for a tariff.

What was the 2022 provincial fee?

This is the change most likely to mislead a reader today. East Nusa Tenggara Governor Regulation 85/2022, dated 28 July 2022, barred visits to Komodo, Padar and surrounding waters for tourists who had not paid a contribution, according to Valid News, which cites Article 9 and an area of 712.12 hectares. Kompas reported the amount as a one-year contribution per person or per group of four, and both are in the price table.

It did not last. On 15 December 2022 the tourism minister announced its withdrawal and cancellation, and the park tariff stayed under Regulation 12/2014, Valid News reported. Any page quoting that figure as a current price is out of date. The fuller account is on the page about the cancelled 2022 fee.

When did the regional charge stop?

On 24 May 2023. Until then West Manggarai regency collected its own charge at Loh Liang on Komodo Island, on top of the state ticket, and also charged for diving and snorkelling through the port authority office in Labuan Bajo. The regent said these regional charges inside the park would stop, after an audit board recommendation reached the regency by way of the ministry and the park authority.

Another layer came and went at about the same time. The province-owned company PT Flobamor raised naturalist guide charges in 2023, according to Detik and Floresa, and ended its cooperation with the park authority on 22 May 2024, Floresa reports. Separately, some operators still list a conservation fee that the poster does not show. The former regional charge used a similar figure, but nothing in the sources establishes a link, as the conservation fee page explains.

What did PP 36/2024 change?

PP 36/2024 is the short form of Government Regulation 36/2024, enacted on 30 September 2024 and effective on 30 October 2024. The park head told Antara that it replaced Regulation 12/2014, and told CNN Indonesia that the increase reflected inflation over the decade since then, averaging 3.65% a year. Four practical differences follow:

One comparison needs care. Detik reported a low former Indonesian ticket before optional activity charges, while Antara describes a higher prior price that appears to count bundled activities. So "how much did it rise" has more than one honest answer for Indonesian visitors. A year later, Forestry Minister Regulation 17/2025, set on 10 September 2025, placed the park in Class 1 of national park entrance tickets, and that class's foreign tariff in PP 36/2024 matches the poster. The clause-level reading is on the PP 36/2024 page.

What changed with SiOra and the quota?

The way of paying changed first. A director general memo, M.2/KSA.3/1/2025, requires conservation units to go cashless, and the conservation director general launched SiOra at Puncak Waringin on 7 July 2025. Then came the ceiling. Antara had the cap confirmed by the park authority's public relations coordinator: 1,000 visitors a day from 1 April 2026. RRI adds that on-site purchase ended and bookings go through SiOra.

None of these steps touched a tariff line. They changed whether a ticket can be bought for a chosen date. The quota page follows that thread.

What changed in September 2026?

The park authority issued announcement No. PG.46/T.17/TU/KSA.04.01/B/09/2026 on 22 September 2026, adjusting how quota is distributed. The background is that the 2026 annual quota was used up in August, according to Detik and CNN Indonesia. Reports differ on the added quota for September to December. RRI says at least 500 more per day, in stages. Detik and CNN Indonesia describe it as limited to 500 per day. Those are different things, and only the announcement's own wording can settle which is right, so this guide does not pick one.

The same notice carries one instruction worth acting on: visitors are asked to check that their e-ticket shows the date they booked. The reports concern quota, not the tariff.

How can you tell whether the fee has changed again?

Start with the date of whatever report you are reading, then open the poster itself. If the poster still names Government Regulation 36/2024 and shows the same lines, treat a report of a new price as unconfirmed and ask the park.

What is the latest Komodo National Park fee schedule?

The poster on the park authority's ticket price page, based on Government Regulation 36/2024 and effective since 30 October 2024. At the November 2026 check there was no announcement of a 2027 tariff, and this guide does not predict one.

What happens if the Komodo National Park fee changes after I book?

The poster says purchased tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded, which describes the ticket but not a later tariff change, so ask the park authority, and if an operator is buying for you, ask in writing who bears any difference.

How can I confirm whether the Komodo National Park fee has changed?

Compare the poster on the park authority's ticket price page, the status of the regulation in the audit board database, and the amount SiOra shows before payment. If they disagree, ask the park's call centre before you pay.

Where can I find the latest official Komodo National Park fee schedule?

On the park authority's website, on its ticket price and carrying capacity page, where the tariff is published as a poster image. Indonesia's tourism ministry site repeats the headline lines for foreign, Indonesian, diving and fishing tickets.

What does a permit cost for an ordinary visit?

For an ordinary visit, the permit in question is the entrance ticket on the poster. A separate conservation-area permit called SIMAKSI applies to purposes such as research, film, expeditions, journalism and drones, and those activities have their own lines or requirements.

Which published prices did we check?

Official tariffs and, where labelled, figures reported by named operators or the press, each with its source and the month we checked it. These are not our prices or offers. Fees and rules change, and sources sometimes disagree, so check the source before you rely on a figure.
