The SiOra payment methods named at the July 2025 launch are BRIVA virtual account from BRI, bank transfer, DANA, Flip and ShopeePay. Credit cards were then described as an unmet need for foreign visitors. Whether foreign cards work today is unverified, so open the payment screen in the app before you rely on any route.
Which SiOra payment methods are listed?
The list comes from the launch report from the forestry ministry of July 2025. It is the one official list we can point to, and it is more than a year old on the date of this page, so read it as a starting point.
| Named method | How the launch report describes it | What to check on screen |
|---|---|---|
| BRIVA | Virtual account from BRI | Whether a limit applies to your total, since the ministry mentioned virtual account limits |
| Bank transfer | Named without further detail | Which banks are accepted, and whether a foreign bank can send |
| DANA | Named without further detail | Whether it is offered at checkout today |
| Flip | Named without further detail | Whether it is offered at checkout today |
| ShopeePay | Named without further detail | Whether it is offered at checkout today |
Foreign phone numbers and foreign accounts are not addressed in the report. Your own attempt at the checkout, or a reply from the park authority, is what settles it. Do this well before you travel. A payment problem you discover at home can wait for an answer, whereas one you find at the harbour on the morning of a trip probably cannot.
Why is it cashless?
The change comes from above the park. The same ministry report cites a director general memo, numbered M.2/KSA.3/1/2025, requiring conservation units to go cashless. So this is an instruction applying across conservation units rather than a preference of the Komodo office, and you should not expect to settle a park ticket with banknotes at a gate. It applies to the Komodo National Park fee as it does to other park tickets.
The official material linked on this page never lists cash as a way to pay it. Other costs on a trip, such as anything you pay a boat crew or a shop, are a separate matter and have nothing to do with this memo. If a seller says you must hand over cash for a park ticket, ask how the ticket will be issued to you and what you will receive as proof. Neptune Liveaboards is one operator that collects park charges in cash, as the page on what a tour includes explains.
Can foreign cards be used?
The published record stops in 2025. Two dated statements exist, and both describe a gap.
| Date | Source | What it says |
|---|---|---|
| February 2025 | Park authority report | Some visitors held only credit cards or had no mobile banking, and this was listed among early problems |
| July 2025 | Forestry ministry launch report | Foreign visitors need credit card payment, and the ministry was working on more routes with the finance ministry |
Treat card support as unconfirmed. Look at the payment options shown inside the app when you reserve, because a live checkout outranks anything written on this page, including this paragraph. If your card fails or is not offered, the next section applies.
Assume nothing about a foreign debit card until the checkout shows it.
What if you have no Indonesian bank?
Work through these in order, starting early.
- Look at the checkout before you need it. Open the app or siora.id, go as far as the payment screen, and note which routes appear for you.
- Write to the park authority. Say which country your bank is in and ask which route is available to you. Its details are in the section on help below.
- Ask the seller, if you are travelling with one. Some operators put park tickets inside the trip price, as our inclusions page explains. If park tickets are inside the price, you may never face the checkout yourself. Have that confirmed in writing, along with how you will receive the ticket.
- Read about the wider choice. Our page on whether you can book Komodo tickets yourself looks at that decision as a whole.
We do not recommend any workaround that involves sending money or card details to someone offering to pay on your behalf outside a contract. If a person you have not dealt with offers this, you may be unable to confirm the ticket before you travel, so ask the park first.
Timing also matters. A circular asks for reservation no later than the day before, because signal in the park is weak, which leaves little room to solve a payment problem late on. For how SiOra fits together as a whole, see our explanation of SiOra Komodo.
Why is a SiOra payment failing?
There is no official troubleshooting guide to link to, so these are likely causes drawn from reported problems, with a sensible next step for each. The February 2025 report names phone compatibility, and the July 2025 report names virtual account limits.
- The app will not complete on your phone. IDN Times names siora.id as an alternative to the app, so try the browser.
- A virtual account rejects the total. A limit may apply. Ask the park whether splitting the party or using another route is allowed before you try anything else.
- A card is declined or missing. This matches the gap described in 2025. It may not be a fault with your card.
Before you retry, write down the time, the amount, the reservation details and any reference number on the screen. If money has left your account and no ticket has appeared, stop and contact the park, since paying again could leave you chasing two payments.
The end point of a successful payment is the digital QR code ticket, which IDN Times says you keep and show at entry. Save it where you can open it without signal. Keep your bank or wallet confirmation with it as your proof of payment.
Where can you get help in Labuan Bajo?
The park authority publishes an office at Jalan Kasimo, Labuan Bajo, and its WhatsApp and email are repeated on our contact page.
The launch report also mentions two self-service reservation points: the Komodo Visitor Centre at the park office, and the KP3 port terminal in Labuan Bajo. It describes them as places to reserve. Ask which payment routes they take and whether staff can help with a foreign card before you count on either point, especially if you arrive the evening before a trip.
What else do people ask about paying?
Why is my SiOra payment failing?
Reported causes include phone compatibility and virtual account limits, and foreign cards were an unmet need in 2025. Note the time and any reference, try siora.id in a browser, and contact the park if money has left your account.
Can foreigners pay on SiOra?
The July 2025 launch report addressed foreign visitors directly and named their need for credit card payment as unmet. Which routes work for a foreign account today is unconfirmed, so check the payment screen.
Can I pay for SiOra with an international card?
This is unverified. The only reports are from 2025 and list card payment as a gap the ministry was working on. The options shown inside the app when you reserve are the best evidence available.
Can I pay the Komodo National Park fee in cash?
No official text cited here lists cash for the park ticket, and a director general memo requires conservation units to go cashless. Plan on paying through a SiOra route or through a seller who issues your ticket.
Does paying produce the ticket?
IDN Times describes a digital QR code ticket that you keep and show at entry. If you have paid and no ticket appears, contact the park authority before paying a second time.

How do I reach the desk?
The desk cannot process a park ticket or a SiOra payment, because tickets and quota are not ours to sell. If you are planning a trip and want a written offer that states how park fees are handled, reach us on WhatsApp at +62 811-3823-875 or send the desk an email. A request may lead to a paid booking, which gives us a commercial interest. You will see the price, any fee and the contracting company in a written offer before agreeing, and only that document binds anyone. See also our disclaimer.
Send the desk your dates, nationality, and activities. The desk replies in writing.
