Sourced figures: fees in the table carry their source and check month. They are official or third-party figures, not our offers, and they change. This guide is not the park authority.

Is the Komodo National Park fee included in a tour? It depends on the operator: Casa de Capulet says some build it into the trip price and others list it separately. The ticket is a state charge. The tourism ministry site says it covers trekking, wildlife watching and snorkelling, not boats or operator services, so get a written breakdown.

What does the ticket itself cover?

Start here, because "included" means nothing until you know what the ticket contains. The official statements agree. According to what the park head said to Antara, trekking, wildlife observation and snorkelling are already part of the entrance ticket. Indonesia's tourism ministry site says the same, and adds that the tariff does not cover boats, accommodation or tour operator services.

So a line reading "snorkelling fee" or "trekking permit" on a quote deserves a polite question. The ticket line itself is covered in the entrance fee guide.

How do operators present fees?

There is no single convention, and that is the root of most confusion. Some operators put fees inside the trip price and others show a separate line, according to Casa de Capulet, a hotel with its own tours desk. Divebooker speaks of operators bundling some fees into the tour price, and its advice is to request a full breakdown. Komodo Resort says it handles permits and fees for its own guests, which describes that one company and no other.

Notice the word "some" in Divebooker's framing. A trip described as including park fees may have the entrance ticket inside the price and the guide charge outside it, or the reverse. Inclusive wording tells you the intention, while the list of lines tells you the facts. A higher trip price is not proof of more being included, and a low one is not proof of less.

Is the Komodo National Park fee included in a tour price if the quote does not say?

Do not assume it is. Silence on a quote could mean that the fee is absorbed, that it will be collected later, or that nobody has thought about it yet. Since the ticket is paid per person per day, a late addition for a group on a long trip can be a large surprise, so put the question before you pay a deposit, and not on the morning of departure.

Which lines should a quote show?

A clear quote lets you tick each of these as inside the price, added separately, or not applicable. The price table on this page gives the reference figures for the visitor ticket, the official guide rate and one operator's harbour figure.

Operator's own serviceVariesCommercialWhat does it pay for?

The harbour fee needs a note of its own. Ocean Earth Travels has a day-trip guest paying it per person for each day, while a liveaboard guest pays once for the whole trip. That is one operator's account, and it is useful when comparing a day trip with an overnight one. Our Labuan Bajo harbour fee page has more on it.

How does a day trip differ from a liveaboard on these lines?

The units behave differently as a trip gets longer. The entrance ticket and the vessel ticket both run per day, so a multi-day sailing multiplies them, and a price that looks all-in for a day trip may not stretch the same way for four days. Guide charges follow stops and groups, so they depend on the itinerary and not on the calendar. The harbour fee, on Ocean Earth Travels' account, works the other way, recurring with each day trip but falling once on a liveaboard. Compare two trips only after putting both on the same list of lines.

Can a seller collect the ticket money in cash on board?

Neptune Liveaboards says so: park charges sit outside its cruise price and guests pay them in cash, in rupiah or US dollars, on board or at embarkation. Those are its own terms, not a park rule. A director general memo requires conservation units to go cashless, as the SiOra payment page explains, and no source cited here says how an operator's cash collection fits with it. If a seller asks for cash, ask for a written figure per person per day, the dates covered, and a copy of the e-ticket. Neptune also warns that ATM limits can mean several withdrawals, so ask early how much you will need.

Who registers you in SiOra?

This matters as much as who pays. If a company is registering you, it needs your details: operator Samara lists each guest's passport number, nationality, gender and full name. If you are doing it yourself, that is your job, and Casa de Capulet's claim that only licensed operators can register visitors is disputed, as the page on whether you can book Komodo tickets yourself explains.

Either way, an "included" ticket is only useful if it exists for the right day. The park authority, according to RRI, wants the e-ticket date to match the visit you booked, so ask for a copy of yours before you travel. The park's protocol also makes it the job of agents, operators and guides to relay its rules to their tourists, so a company cannot fairly treat these as your problem alone.

What should you get in writing?

  1. A list of the park lines above, each marked as inside or outside the price.
  2. The visitor type and number of days used for the entrance ticket.
  3. Who registers you in SiOra, and when you receive your e-ticket and QR code.
  4. What happens to the ticket money if your date changes or the park closes, given that the poster calls tickets non-refundable. See refunds and closures.
  5. Whether a tariff rise before your trip would be passed on to you.
  6. The legal name of the company taking your money.

Any operator that replies with a clear list has given you what you need to compare it with others. This page does not rank them. Test the reply with the checking guide, count its days on the per-day page, compare foreign lines on the page for foreigners, and confirm your date has places on the quota page. The Komodo National Park fee overview names every charge those pages discuss.

What else do people ask about what a tour includes?

What is included in a Komodo National Park tour fee?

There is no standard. A tour price is whatever the operator lists. Casa de Capulet says fees may sit inside the price or on a separate line, so ask for each park charge to be named and marked one way or the other.

Is the Komodo National Park fee included in day-trip prices?

Sometimes. Ask directly, and ask about the guide charge and harbour fee too. Ocean Earth Travels describes the harbour fee as charged per person per day on day trips, so it can recur if you take more than one.

Is the Komodo National Park fee included in liveaboard prices?

It varies by operator. Komodo Resort says it handles permits and fees for its own guests, but that speaks only for that company. Because the ticket is per day, ask how many days the operator has counted for your sailing.

Is a guide included in the Komodo National Park ticket?

The park head's list of what the ticket covers names trekking, wildlife observation and snorkelling and does not name a guide. The park publishes a guide tariff on a separate page, and a tour quote should say whether that charge is inside its price.

What is included in the Komodo National Park ticket price?

Trekking, wildlife observation and snorkelling, according to the park head and the tourism ministry site. The ministry site says boats, accommodation and tour operator services are not covered.

Which published prices did we check?

Official tariffs and, where labelled, figures reported by named operators or the press, each with its source and the month we checked it. These are not our prices or offers. Fees and rules change, and sources sometimes disagree, so check the source before you rely on a figure.

How do I reach the desk?

You can ask the desk to read the lines on a quote through +62 811-3823-875 on WhatsApp or by email. Requests here can turn into a paid booking, which gives us a commercial interest in the outcome. If that happens, you receive a written offer stating any fee, the price and the contracting company before you agree, and only that document binds anyone.
