By Komodo National Park Fee Editorial Desk
Sourced figures: fees in the table carry their source and check month. They are official or third-party figures, not our offers, and they change. This guide is not the park authority.

There is no separate Komodo Island entrance fee on the park authority's poster: visitors pay the park-wide ticket, per person per day. What sets Komodo Island apart is Loh Liang, the gate where guides must accompany visitors and where a regional charge existed until May 2023. Current figures are in the price table on this page.
Is there a separate Komodo Island entrance fee?
Not on the official tariff. The park authority's poster, based on Government Regulation 36/2024, prices the entrance ticket for the national park as a whole, not island by island. A visitor landing at Loh Liang holds the same kind of ticket as one landing elsewhere in the park, and that park-wide line is what our Komodo National Park fee overview explains. The price table shows the foreign and two Indonesian lines that apply.
One operator's per-island dollar list conflicts with both the poster and the tourism ministry site; see the checking guide. Read such a list as a way of describing a trip cost, not as a state tariff for the island.
A second-day visit follows the same logic. Because the unit is per person per day, a further day inside the park needs a further day's ticket, whichever island the boat is at. The poster has no island-specific top-up. Whether one day's ticket holds at a second gate is taken up on the per-day page, so confirm in SiOra or with the park.
Distance does not change the ticket either. Kompas puts Komodo at about 49 km by sea from Labuan Bajo and Rinca at about 22 km. That gap can affect what a boat costs, but that is a commercial price and not a park tariff.
What happens at Loh Liang?
siora.id describes Loh Liang as a Komodo Island entrance gate of 8,512.7 hectares with short, medium and long trails, and says longer routes need advance booking. It also says that visitors at Loh Liang must always be accompanied by rangers or naturalist guides, so a quote may show a guide charge next to the ticket on this island.
Komodo Island also has the largest annual capacity figure in Antara's list by location, set out on the park's daily quota page. That figure does not alter what you pay, and it does not promise a free place on any given date.
What was the Loh Liang regional charge?
Until May 2023, a visitor at Loh Liang could meet a charge that no longer exists. West Manggarai regency collected its own regional charge there, with separate foreign and Indonesian amounts, per Detik. Both appear in the price table and are marked as stopped.
That ended on 24 May 2023, the date the regent gave for regional charges inside the park to cease. The instruction traced back to an audit board recommendation that reached the regency through the ministry and the park authority. Anything describing a Loh Liang regional ticket in the present tense is therefore out of date. Some operators do still list a conservation fee that is not on the poster, and the conservation fee page takes those claims one at a time.
What are the guide charges on Komodo Island?
This is the one cost on the island without a current official figure that we can point to. The park's guide services page covers Loh Buaya and Gili Lawa only, so the official rate for Loh Liang is not verified. What exists instead is a trail of other sources:
| Source | What it says about Loh Liang guiding | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Ocean Earth Travels, an operator | Lists a ranger charge for Komodo, per group of up to 5 | Operator figure, shown in the price table |
| Floresa, March 2024 | Reports a PT Flobamor tariff at Loh Liang, per 1 to 5 tourists | Historic |
| Floresa, June 2024 | Reports PT Flobamor ended its cooperation with the park authority on 22 May 2024 | That tariff's operator has left |
Since guiding is required at this gate but its current official rate is not on record here, ask whoever arranges your visit what they will charge and who collects it. The naturalist guide fee page compares the sources across the park.
Does visiting Komodo Village change the ticket?
No, at least not in the direction some visitors hope. siora.id says the Komodo Village walk arranged by locals still requires visitors to buy park fees at another gate. A village visit does not replace the park ticket, and a walk arranged through residents should not be treated as a way in that avoids it.
Where to buy needs care too. siora.id's destination text still describes ticket sales at gates including Loh Liang, at set hours, while RRI reports that on-site purchase ended in April 2026. Go with the later report, and do not count on a counter at the gate. The SiOra guide covers how booking works now.
Why do old articles show other prices?
Because several different charges have been attached to this one island over the years, and old pages rarely say which they mean. When you meet a figure that does not match the price table, it probably belongs to one of these:
| What you may see | What it was | Status today |
|---|---|---|
| A very large one-year contribution for Komodo and Padar | The 2022 provincial fee | Cancelled |
| An add-on collected at Loh Liang | West Manggarai regional charge | Stopped 24 May 2023 |
| A guide tariff naming PT Flobamor | The province-owned company's charges | Cooperation ended 22 May 2024 |
| Island tickets in dollars | An operator's approximate description | Conflicts with the poster |
| A foreign ticket with a holiday price | The tariff before 30 October 2024 | Replaced |
The largest of these still causes the most confusion. It was announced for Komodo and Padar and later withdrawn, as the page on the cancelled 2022 fee explains. If a seller quotes it, or anything close to it, as a condition of landing on Komodo Island, ask for the current legal basis.
What do visitors ask about fees on Komodo Island?
Is a permit required to visit Komodo Island?
An ordinary visitor needs the park entrance ticket, booked through SiOra according to RRI. The separate conservation-area permit, SIMAKSI, is for purposes such as research, film, expeditions, journalism and drones.
How much is Komodo Island entrance?
The same as entry to the rest of the park, since the poster has no island-specific line. The foreign and Indonesian lines are in the price table on this page, each per person per day. Guiding at Loh Liang is a separate cost.
Do I pay another park fee when visiting Komodo Island on a second day?
Each further day inside the park needs its own daily ticket, on the poster's per-day wording. That is not a Komodo Island surcharge, and it applies wherever the boat is that day.
What fees do I pay for Komodo Island?
The park entrance ticket for each person and day, plus a ranger or naturalist guide, since siora.id says visitors at Loh Liang must always be accompanied. Boat costs depend on your seller. Scuba diving has its own line if you dive.
How much is Komodo Island entry in rupiah?
The official tariff is set in rupiah, and the applicable lines are in the price table on this page. Figures from older articles may describe charges that have since stopped or been cancelled.
Which published prices did we check?
Official tariffs and, where labelled, figures reported by named operators or the press, each with its source and the month we checked it. These are not our prices or offers. Fees and rules change, and sources sometimes disagree, so check the source before you rely on a figure.
